Association Products

Synergy Benefits has found a valuable niche in providing health insurance benefits and services – including 401(k) plans, COBRA Health Insurance and Section 125 plans (also known as a cafeteria plan, section 125 cafeteria plan and a flexible spending account) – for member groups within the Association/ Affinity marketplace. Synergy Benefits makes it possible to achieve ‘strength through numbers’ by offering Associations and Affinity programs group health insurance. By collectively pooling their claims experience, these Association plans reduce risk and help lower overall health costs for companies that would otherwise have to purchase a health plan on their own. In addition, combined group buying power helps smooth out premium rate increases over time by lowering administrative and re-insurance costs.

Synergy Benefits has partnered with an insurance carrier that has close to 100 years of experience within the insurance industry, with more than 50 years servicing Association health plans. Using their expertise and cost-containment strategies, Synergy Benefits is confident that your Association will benefit from comprehensive insurance product offerings, customized plan designs and growth in Association membership resulting from increased loyalty and product offerings.

Section 125 Policies

A good way to provide health care benefits, dependent care benefits, and spending accounts for employees is with the establishment of a Section 125 Plan – often referred to as cafeteria plans or flexible spending accounts. The Section 125 plan allows an employee to contribute pre-tax dollars to the cost of benefits. The contributions made by the employee are not subject to federal, state or social security taxes. This pre-tax savings also benefits the employer because FICA responsibility and workers compensation premiums are both reduced.

401(k) Plans

Sponsored by the employer, a 401(k) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by contributing a certain amount of their salary to an account, the funds of which are exempt from income taxes. There are several investment options available from which the employee can choose, and funds from these investments can generally be reallocated at any time.

For more information on 401(k) plans, COBRA health insurance, Section 125 plans (section 125 cafeteria plan, cafeteria plan, or a flexible spending account), or any other human resources service, please contact any one of our Synergy Benefits specialists at your convenience.
